We have an immediate vacancy for a Design Engineer to join our team in Bangor.
The successful candidate will assist the Contracts Team in a number of minor works projects currently at construction/ pre-construction stage, including municipal and industrial waste water treatment plants, water treatment plants and various pumping stations.
Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, the main duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Working alongside the Project Managers and assisting in the following areas:
- Produce detailed 3D models using Autodesk Revit and 2D sheet drawings from those models
- Produce 2D schematics using AutoCAD
- Have a good understanding of construction general arrangement drawing, P&IDs, PFDs etc
- Knows fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within an engineering technical discipline
- Observation and understanding of basic engineering practices and procedures
- Ensure drawings are completed within given timescale and to good quality
- Liaise and help co-ordinate with all stakeholders on projects
- Research information on the internet and use catalogues or internet sites to select standard components in design
- Visit sites to take measurements and discover more detail about projects
- Ensure ISO quality standards and requirements are met throughout the design and installation processes
- To perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time-to-time
Skills / Attributes;
- Must be proficient 2D and 3D modelling (AutoCAD / Revit)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Degree/ Equivalent in an engineering discipline desirable
- Water &/or Waste Water industry experience will be an advantage
- Strong engineering analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment
