We have an immediate vacancy for a HSQE Advisor to join our team in Bangor.
They will be primarily responsible for co-ordinating, supporting and advising the business on all aspects with regards to health, safety, quality and environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious person to join a fast paced and innovative company.
They will report directly to the Operations Manager and assist with the following areas of responsibility:
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility and compliance of the Company’s HSQE policies and procedures for the company
- Ensures, in accordance with the corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSQE systems and 3rd party accreditations
- Establishes, manages and monitors standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with health and safety among staff and on-site are adhered to
- Carries investigations into all NCs, accidents, near-miss incidents & safety observations and recording the findings on the relevant forms, reporting findings to management and regulatory bodies and ensuring all actions are followed up.
- Produces monthly HSQE reports for Senior Management which includes statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans
- Conducts health and safety inspections and preparing reports as required.
- Conducts internal & external HSQE/ISO Audits including construction site base audits
- Health and Safety in Construction – implementation of CDM regulations and the preparation of various HSQE documents including Construction Phase HSQE Plan, H&S file, method statements, risk assessments, O&M manuals
- Takes lead in the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer Roles under CDM regulations for the business
- Communication with clients, sub-contractors and other relevant third parties on HSQE related matters
- Completion of company’s Risk Assessments as required by legislation and ensuring they are reviewed at relevant intervals and maintaining records of the same.
- Keeping up to date with changes in current legislation and implementing such changes where relevant
- Maintains various HSQE related trackers including training matrix, lifting equipment, calibrations, fire inspections etc.
- To perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- To perform any other duties as may be reasonably be required from time-to-time
Skills/Attributes
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar HSQE role
- NEBOSH qualification/member of professional body
- Degree in an engineering discipline desirable but depending on experience may not be essential
- Knowledge of wastewater and water applications will be an advantage
- Must be proficient in MS office including Word, Excel & Outlook
- Must have clean full driving licence
